It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of a toddler from our community who was struck by a vehicle in Surrey. Tragically, the child did not survive.
Witnesses stated that the driver was distracted by his phone at the time of the incident. While we await the official investigation results, this heartbreaking loss is a painful reminder of how a moment’s distraction can change lives forever.
On behalf of our community, we extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family. No words can ease their pain, but as a united community, we stand beside Emami family in this unimaginable time of loss.
Let this be a wake-up call for all of us. No message, call, or notification is worth a life. Please, put your phones away while driving — our streets, our children, and our families deserve to be safe.
We are currently coordinating support for the family and will be organizing the funeral. Details will be shared shortly.
May this innocent soul rest in peace,
Wadood Dilsoz
President , Afghan Community (ACVF)
